Dear LCS Community,

Praise be to God that we at LCS are able to welcome our students to campus next Tuesday, September 8th. We have received many great questions from our community and this email will address morning health screenings, arrival and dismissal, as well as, dress code changes.

Morning Health Screenings

Our first line of health defense starts at home with parents. Please pay close attention to your child’s temperature. There is a four question daily online health screening questionnaire, which we will need parents to complete by 7:10 am each day. We have partnered with Sycamore to provide a streamlined way for you to complete this daily task in under a minute on your preferred digital device. Attached you will find instructions to complete the form through Sycamore.

If you answer yes to any of the four health screening questions or if your child has a temperature of 100.0 F or above, please keep your child home for the day and call the main office to notify the school.

If your child passes the screening questions and has a low temp, they may arrive on campus at beginning at 7:30 am by the LCS Gymnasium doors. Once a student enters the gym through the side door, they will receive a temperature check by a trained staff member. If they have a temperature of 100.0 F or greater, they will have 5 minutes to cool down in a supervised care room before their temp is re-checked. You will be contacted to pick up your child as soon as possible if they are still too hot upon the second temperature check. Attached, you will find New York State procedures to follow for children who need to go home due to the expression of COVID-19-like symptoms.

Arrival and Dismissal
The school’s procedures are designed to ensure that all students can safely arrive and depart from school in accordance with current New York State COVID-19 related standards.

Dress Code

In order for LCS to be in compliance with NYS requirements, LCS has relaxed our dress code to include athletic clothing during our current COVID-19 adjustments. Modesty for both boys and girls will be paramount. Parents play a very important role in ensuring that school day outfits are appropriate.

I recognize that there is a great deal of information shared in this post. The LCS staff is happy to answer any questions that you may have as we start the new year. Grace and flexibility are key to our successful year ahead. State requirements continue to change frequently and I will keep you posted with the latest information.

It is important to remember that even though we reside in an uncertain time we have our firm foundation in our Lord Jesus Christ. While many things are temporarily different at LCS, the faculty and staff are still a community of people who love Jesus, your children, and being educators. We can’t wait for Tuesday! Have a blessed long weekend with your family and see you next week.
