Lima Christian School is ACSI-certified, which allows us to encourage continued professional learning and effectiveness among our faculty. Just as we encourage our students to be life-long learners, we want to set the same example as their teachers and leaders. Several of our teachers have recently completed or are working on Master’s degrees or ACSI certification to further their studies. As an ACSI school, teaching applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited ACSI-approved or recognized college or university. Applicants should also have or be willing to complete additional training in the Christian philosophy of education, formal Bible instruction, and appropriate teacher or administrator training.

Job Title
Full-time First Grade Teacher

Mission
The mission of Lima Christian School is to provide academic excellence, a nurturing environment, and strong community to help students discover their God-given talents and prepare them for a life honoring Jesus Christ. The philosophy of education at Lima Christian School is based on the Bible as the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. The curriculum of Lima Christian School places God in the center of all things (Colossians 2:3; Proverbs 1:7). Lima Christian School exists to support parents in the training of their children in the truth of God as revealed through Scripture.

Expectations
We expect all teachers to be Christ-centered, educated, kind, loving, fun, professional, and creative. Teachers should instill a love of learning in their students and focus on helping each individual student learn at his or her own pace. All teachers should be reliable and independent. They must have an understanding of team ministry and embrace a team spirit. Teachers should embrace the opportunity to witness their Christian faith to others.

Job Description
The teacher will be responsible for planning and teaching lessons that are equivalent to NY State Standards and LCS Student Expected Outcomes for First Grade for the 2024-25 school year. The applicant should be comfortable with building from an established curriculum to make it their own. He or she will create a nurturing environment that is conducive to the academic, social, and spiritual growth of the students. In addition to teaching, he or she will be responsible for communicating effectively with students and parents regarding progress and collaborating with other LCS staff in order to meet school-wide curriculum goals. Strong writing skills are necessary. Proficiency with technology and experience are preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or a related field applicable to a teaching position is required. Master’s degree in area preferred. Commencement towards certification (NY State Certification as Elementary Teacher grades 1-6 and/or ACSI) is mandatory.

Full-time Middle School/ High School English Teacher

Job Description
The teacher will be responsible for planning and teaching lessons that are equivalent to NY State Standards and LCS Student Expected Outcomes for middle school/high school content area classes (specific level classes to be determined). The applicant will teach classroom material and run appropriate labs to accompany the material. The applicant should be comfortable with building from an established curriculum to make it their own. He or she will create an environment that is conducive to the academic, social, and spiritual growth of the students. In addition to teaching, he or she will be responsible for communicating effectively with students and parents regarding progress and collaborating with other LCS staff in order to meet schoolwide curriculum goals. Strong writing skills are necessary, and experience is preferred. A Bachelor of Arts in Education or a related field applicable to a teaching position is required. A master’s degree in the subject area is preferred. Commencement towards certification (NY State Certification as MIddle/High School Teacher grades 7-12 and/or ACSI) is mandatory.

Coaching candidates should download the Coach Application Packet, print, complete, and send it to Athletic Director. You may drop the application off in the LCS main office.
