Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Your student will spend over 3,000 hours in middle school. Alongside core coursework in Bible, English language arts, history, math, science, and Spanish, your student can explore media arts, music, theater, and yearbook. Students compete on modified soccer and basketball teams against area schools, and eighth graders may be eligible to try out for varsity or junior varsity.
By the end of those 3,000 hours, your student will be prepared for high school and for a lifetime of following Christ with courage and conviction.
High School (Grades 9-12)
Your student will spend over 5,000 hours in high school. Coursework is built to meet New York State local diploma requirements while equipping your student to see how God’s truth applies to every subject. An Advanced Standing diploma track adds additional language and math credits for students seeking a more challenging academic path.
By the end of those 5,000 hours, your student will be equipped with the academic foundation and biblical worldview needed for whatever God has called them to after graduation.
College Credit in High School
Students in grades 11 and 12 may earn college credit while still in high school by enrolling in dual enrollment classes. Registration depends on your student completing the required prerequisite courses.

Earning college credit early reduces tuition costs later, gives your student a chance to challenge themselves academically, and strengthens college applications by demonstrating readiness for college-level work. Families work closely with the Academic Coordinator and administration to make sure your student is ready for the added rigor and pace.
Beyond the Classroom
Students discover more of the gifts God has given them in the hours that are not on the class schedule. The same student can act in the spring musical, start on the soccer team, and help plan homecoming, all in one year.
National Honor Society
Students who pair strong academic work with character and service may be recognized through the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society. Members spend the year serving the school and the surrounding community, and each spring new members are welcomed in an induction ceremony.
Theater
Middle and high school students may audition for a musical and a play every year. Recent productions include Newsies, Pride and Prejudice, and The Outsiders. Students work with directors for every aspect, including performing, tech, sets, and stage crew. No prior experience is required.
Saints Athletics
LCS Saints teams compete in baseball, basketball, soccer, and softball. Modified teams in basketball and soccer give younger athletes a place to start. In a school this size, the student who wants to play gets to play, and many students compete in two or three sports across the year.
Student Traditions
Every class elects its own representatives to Student Council, so your student has a voice in what the year looks like and a path to lead it. Those representatives plan the spirit weeks and activities that shape the calendar, alongside fall and winter homecoming, the pep rally, and field day.

What curriculum do classes use?
Your student will learn from established programs published by trusted names, with materials varying by grade and subject. Bible instruction draws on Summit Ministries and Christian Schools International resources, English language arts uses Holt’s Elements of Literature along with Sadlier Vocabulary and full novels, history follows Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, math uses eMATHinstruction, and science comes from Bob Jones, Prentice Hall, Glencoe, and National Geographic. Every curriculum is reviewed regularly to meet Lima Christian School’s standards for academic excellence and Christ-centered instruction.
How can my student earn college credit?
Students may pursue college credit through AP courses, dual enrollment, and early college programs. English 101 and Pre-Calculus are currently available for dual enrollment to juniors and seniors who have completed the prerequisites. Calculus I and II, Physics, and English 101 all carry college credit, and AP American Literature is offered in junior year.

How large are the classes?
Middle and high school classes at Lima Christian School average nine students, with a maximum of 18. This close community allows our students to grow and teachers to disciple them.
What sports and activities are available?
Saints Athletics fields soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball. Middle school students compete on modified teams against area schools, and eighth graders may be eligible to try out for varsity or junior varsity. Beyond athletics, students take part in theatrical productions and musicals, worship team, student government, yearbook, and media arts. In a school this size, your student does not have to choose only one.
What areas does Lima Christian School serve?
Our campus sits at 1574 Rochester St. in the village of Lima, near the crossroads of Routes 5 and 20 and Route 15A, which puts us within a comfortable drive of much of the region. Families currently travel to us from Lima, Honeoye Falls, Livonia, Avon, Geneseo, Rush-Henrietta, Bloomfield, and Victor, along with communities throughout Livingston, Monroe, and Ontario Counties. If you are farther out than that, we would still love to talk. A few of our families carpool, and we are glad to help you connect with others driving in from your direction.
Is before or after school care available?
Currently, LCS does not offer extended care beyond our program hours. The school day begins at 7:55 a.m. and dismissal is at 2:56 p.m.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, we have a simple dress code that supports a focused learning environment. You can learn more by viewing the handbook available on our current families webpage.
Do students receive report cards and standardized assessments?
Yes. Report cards are made available in SchoolTool four times a year, with parent-teacher conferences available upon request. Standardized assessments are administered each April, giving you a clear picture of how your child is progressing against national benchmarks. As an ACSI-accredited school, Lima Christian School holds itself to measurable standards, so you will never have to wonder how your child is actually doing.
