Frequently Asked Questions for Homeschool Families
Do I need to enroll my child as a full-time student first?
No. Your child remains a homeschool student. Participation in LCS classes, athletics, and theater is separate from full-time enrollment. You maintain your homeschool structure and curriculum while adding specific courses or activities.
Can my child take just one class?
Yes. Whether you choose one class or two, Lima Christian School welcomes homeschool students to supplement their curriculum with our specialized instruction.
Does my child need to complete a screening test?
For core subjects such as math and science, your student will complete a screening assessment before registering. This confirms that your child is prepared for the course and positioned to do well.
When is payment due?
Payment is due in full to the LCS office before the first day of the school year. Registration is secured once the office receives your payment.
Are there any other fees beyond tuition or the activity fee?
Classes include instruction and use of school materials and labs. Some activities may have additional costs for field trips or special events. Admissions can provide full details for your chosen class or activity.
Can my child stay at school between classes?
Yes. If your student has a single period between two classes, we will assign your student to a study hall for that block. Your student stays on campus and has a quiet place to work rather than traveling back and forth.
Can my child stay for lunch?
Yes. If your student has a class before and after lunch, your child is welcome to remain for the lunch period. Hot lunch is available Monday through Thursday. To order hot lunch, send a request to the school office before 8:30 a.m. that morning.
Can my child attend chapel?
Yes, all students are welcome and encouraged to attend chapel. Chapel services occur every Friday from 12:07 to 12:47 p.m..
What are the practice/rehearsal schedules?
Schedules vary by activity and season. Contact admissions for specific practice times and commitments for the activity your child is interested in.
What if my child has questions about faith or discipleship?
At Lima Christian School, our teachers are disciple-makers who engage thoughtfully with students’ questions about faith. We encourage these conversations as part of learning. However, parents remain the primary authority and guide for their children’s spiritual development. We work to reinforce the values and beliefs taught at home and support your family’s Christian faith journey.
